Summary of Changes from Previous Version

This Procedure was revised to align with the Deakin University Enterprise Agreement 2017, in particular:

- removal of Victorian College of the Arts from clauses 7a & 9a

- clause 7c&9c expanded to include School of Medicine, and to clarify that the employment is required to have directly related to the requirements of their appt • deletion of clause 8 recognising accrued SL at other organisations (and subsequent renumbering)

- Executive Director, HR replaced the VC as responsible for determining long service leave entitlements 

- total service recognised at previous employers reduced from 10 to 7 years, with no accrued entitlements accepted by any prior employer

- clause 14 amended to state that all new staff will be advised that they are able to apply for recognition of prior service

- application period for transfer of SL or recognition of prior service increased from 6 to 12 months.
