Summary of Changes from Previous Version

This Procedure was amended to align with the Deakin University Enterprise Agreement 2017, in particular:

- clause 4 was expanded to make it explicitly clear that this Procedure does not apply to staff on Senior Staff Performance Contracts

- clause 10 expanded to clarify that staff appointed to subsequent fixed-term employment are not normally required to undertake an additional probationary period, and that advice must be sought from HR if supervisors are considering staff to undertake a second probationary period

- inclusion of new clause 25 that sets out that Unsatisfactory Performance, Misconduct and Serious Misconduct and Review of Decision-Termination of Employment or Demotion do not apply during probationary period as per EA clause 21.3

- expansion of clause 30 to set out that in cases of serious misconduct employment may be terminated without notice

- typographical errors and nonclementure revised.
