Summary of Changes from Previous Version

The Animal Ethics and Welfare Procedure sets out Deakin’s responsibilities, governance and approval processes for the care and use of animals for scientific purposes. The Procedure codifies the University’s existing processes and aligns with the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1986 and associated Regulation, and the Australian code for the care and use of animals for scientific purposes (the Code).
