Summary of Changes from Previous Version

In 2019, the Victorian Parliament passed new legislation which made some changes to Victoria’s integrity system. The new legislation introduced changes to the Protected Disclosure Act 2012 to support people making disclosures which are in the public interest. The legislative changes replace existing ‘protected disclosure’ arrangements with 'public interest disclosures'. On 6 February 2020 Deakin’s Protection of Persons from Detrimental Action procedure was revised to align with the legislative changes (including renaming it the Public Interest Disclosures procedure) and to provide greater clarity.
