Summary of Changes from Previous Version

On 2 September 2020 clause 17 of the Employment of Staff procedure was amended to reflect that the Recognition of Prior Service procedure had been revoked. Relevant content from the Recognition of Prior Service procedure was subsumed into the Recruitment of Staff procedure and Staff Awards procedure.

On 17 May 2019 amendments to the Working at Deakin policy suite were made to streamline processes and provide greater clarity. This process revoked the Workforce Design and Planning policy, Induction procedure and Succession Planning procedure. Amendments were made to the Employment of Staff policy, Performance and Development policy, DeakinAchieve Performance and Development Program procedure and the Probation (Academic Staff) procedure. In particular, amendments were made to the Employment of Staff procedure to: - strengthen commitments to diversity and inclusion and Indigenous employment - include relevant workforce planning and succession planning statements in the Employment of Staff procedure (previously set out in the revoked Workforce Design and Planning policy and Succession Planning procedure).
